Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology - Troy University Master's Degree in Elementary Education - Troy University

Mrs. Tabatha Murdock

My name is Tabatha Gonzalez Murdock and I have been teaching at Holly Hill for 8 years. I spent my first year in 6th grade, 2 years in 4th grade, 4 years in 3rd grade, and this is my first year in 2nd grade. I am originally from a military family, so I moved around a lot as a young child. I was born in Kissimmee, FL., but I like to claim that I am from Mobile, AL. because that is where I spent the majority of my years growing up.

I attended Troy University (Go Troy!) and was very active in campus life. I was a member of the Sound of the South marching band colorguard for 4 years, as well as a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. I was also inducted into Psi Chi Honor's Society and Delta Epsilon Iota Honor's Society. I am a proud graduate of Troy University and I still try to go to as many football games as I can. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Troy in 2008. After graduation, I married my husband, Evan. We have been married for nearly 12 years and have 2 boys and 1 baby girl. Blake is 11 years old, Jake is 8, and Evie is 4.

Shortly after the birth of our first son, I decided to go back to school because I had always dreamed of being a teacher. I graduated with my Master's Degree in Elementary Education in May of 2013. I love teaching and believe fully in hands-on learning. I believe if the students are having fun, they are more likely to enjoy learning and become lifelong learners.

In my spare time I love to run. I just completed my third half marathon this year!  I try to run at least 10 to 20 miles a week and I participate in half marathons and other races frequently. I also love college football (Go Troy and War Eagle!), soccer, and volleyball. I enjoy spending as much time as I can at the beach with my family and watching my children grow up. I look forward to this year and I am excited to get my students to have fun learning!
